I know I am so incredibly far behind on updating this thing! Apparently I'm (in the words of Ricky Martin) living la vida loca.
So Portland was GREAT! I got off work early, so when I got to Elise's grandparent's appartment, she and I hit up Nordstroms!!! She spent tons of money, and i spent $30 on 2 cute tank tops. Then we went out for Japanese food at this place that looked EXACTLY like a place we'd been to in Pasadena. It was creepy, because when we looked out the window, it felt like we should have seen LA, not Portland!
The next day, I woke up early, and she slept till 10:30ish. We went to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry--think regionals) and played around with geeky science stuff for a few hours, got grossed out by the REAL human embryo exhibit, and left. :) Elise and I went back to her grandparents, they decided they didn't want to go out w/ us for dinner, so she and I took the trolley a few blocks to the waterfront. We ate at McCormick and Schmick's (REALLY GOOD FOOD). It was amazing, but we were so full that we could hardly eat our dinners. However, we'd been eyeing the desert tray, so (after about 15 minutes of debating) ordered a piece of 7 layer chocolate cake to go. We WALKED (my stomach hurt so bad from eating!) all the way back to her grandparent's and stopped by a park that had a gigantic man-made waterfall. It was super architecturally/aesthetically appealing (minus the making out couples). We did the crossword when we got back and ate our cake. good stuff.
THe next morning, we got up and watched The Wedding Planner, had our leftovers, and watched Finding Nemo. Then I took off and headed back home, of course, to head straight to work.
Today was Grandma's birthday, so we had a little feast over at the place she's staying. Some of her friends came, and it was really nice.
Now I'm going to Emily's to spend the night and watch movies and have girl talk! It will be fantabulous :)
